As an initial step in preparing for the drafting of the Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa, PKM), the Biotechnology undergraduate program, the Department of Biology, the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University held a PKM proposal writing training for 2021. The activity which lasted for two days, 9-10 February 2021, was attended by the Biotechnology Undergraduate Program students. The speaker in this event was Dr. Drs. Wijanarka, M.Si, who is a lecturer at the Biotechnology Undergraduate Program who has also guided many students for preparing PKM proposals. In addition, there was also a sharing session on PKM writing experiences by Romario Dion and Pragati, students of Biotechnology Undergraduate Program, who won gold medal at PIMNAS 2020.

The event was opened directly by the head of the Biotechnology Undergraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Hermin Pancasakti, M.Si. This event was divided into two sessions at different times. In the first session, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, the event was carried out online via Microsoft Teams. It was observed that more than 50 students participated in this session to compile PKM proposals either individually or in groups. The proposals that had been arranged were then uploaded and then corrected by Dr. Drs. Wijanarka, M.Si.

The second session, Wednesday, February 10, 2021, was a training session delivered by Dr. Drs. Wijanarka, M.Si. He presented an outline regarding how to compile a good and correct PKM proposal. He also amplified some common mistakes that must be avoided so that the PKM proposal could pass the verification stage. The next event was an experience sharing session by Romario Dion and Pragati who had won the PIMNAS 2020 gold medal. They conveyed the strategies used and the challenges faced when compiling and carrying out PKM research. At the end of the session, Dr. Drs. Wijanarka, M.Si delivered some corrections and suggestions related to student PKM proposals that were arranged in the first session.

In the last session, besides to the PKM briefing, the committee also introduced a team of supervisors that students could refer for preparing PKM proposal. So that, students can communicate and consult with the supervisors on everything about the program. In addition, the role of the Biotechnology Undergraduate Program is very much needed to be able to work together for manifesting the program. The hope is that not only one, but many proposals from Biotechnology study program students can qualify for PIMNAS 2021.
