Semarang – Diponegoro University’s Biotechnology study program in collaboration with PT Plasma Unitech Global on Friday, January 14, 2022, held a Mini PCR Workshop. This activity was held directly in the Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University.
Alfriana as a salesperson from PT Plasma Unitech Global explained and demonstrated the use of mini PCR for the DNA amplification process. The mini PCR tool itself is a portable tool that is easy to use and can support practical activities and research in the molecular field. Although this tool cannot be adjusted for gradient PCR, in general its functions and essence are almost the same as DNA amplification tools in general.
Alfriana also clarified that setting up the mini PCR tool itself uses special software that can be run on a computer device. This software can be accessed for free by users without the need to register an account first.
Then, this mini PCR tool has the advantage of being small in size so that it is easy to carry and move. This mini PCR tool has a relatively more affordable price compared to other gradient PCR tools.
The results of mini PCR amplification showed that the DNA band display had good resolution. So the use of this mini PCR tool is highly recommended for use in practicum and research activities.
