Semarang – The Department of Biology, Diponegoro University on Sunday, June 12, 2022 held Community Service Activities for the residents of RT 05 RW 13 Kelurahan Meteseh, Tembalang, Semarang with the topic of training on Making Soap Bars with Natural Dyes. The event was hosted by Dr. Endang Kusdiyantini, DEA as the speaker.

The topic of this activity is about the introduction and manufacture of organic solid soap with natural dyes for health. We know that generally bar soap is made using many chemical materials and synthetic dyes to be durable. However, the use of synthetic materials tends to be less environmentally friendly and can cause allergic skin reactions if they are not compatible. However, this organic bar soap is made using natural dyes that are safe when used and certainly have a variety of benefits.

Reporting from various sources, organic bar soap has several advantages. Such as friendly to the environment, minimal allergic reactions, suits all skin types and can restore dry skin conditions to normal conditions and it is safe from synthetic dyes.

This activity was not only intended for education but also intended to demonstrate how to make soap bars to the community. With materials that are easy to obtain, hopefully the community could be moved to make organic soap bars that were environmentally friendly.

This activity was enthusiastically followed by local residents and was attended by about 25 participants of various ages.
